Founded by architect Matteo Brioni in 2010, we’re building on four generations of Italian clay craftsmanship, reimagining the earth’s oldest building material for contemporary architecture.
We honour tradition, while always innovating and moving forward, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with clay.

We keep our clays as close to nature as possible, adapting them just enough to perform in real world spaces.
Our palette is taken directly from nature, each shade sourced from a single origin. Over the past 15+ years, we’ve developed a system that allows us to blend pure clay, mineral aggregates, and carefully calibrated binders to create surfaces that are are durable enough for modern life, while still retaining the look and feel of raw earth.
Our factory sits in the Italian countryside, not far from the brickworks where our family has been working with clay since 1920.
All of our research and development happens in house. Our state-of-the-art facilites are able to produce up to 15 tonnes of material per day, allowing us to deliver for projects of any size, anywhere in the world.
Behind MATTEOBRIONI is a team of craftspeople who work hands-on with clay every day, researching, refining, testing, and perfecting our surfaces.
