A soft ochre-brown that carries the memory of a closed gate. Matteo had travelled to Kyoto, setting off to see the walls of Katsura Imperial Villa — and arrived to find it shut to visitors. The unplanned hours that followed led him to wander the inner streets of Kyoto, marvelling at the deep, coffee-coloured walls he found along the way. This clay, sourced in Piedmont, captures a similar rich, warm hue.
