David Chipperfield Architects placed raw earth at the centre of Furla's Milan flagship — a material choice that softens the precision of the architecture while deepening its quiet conversation with one of the city's most storied public squares.
about this project
Designed by David Chipperfield Architects, the Furla flagship store in Milan redefines the retail space through a restrained and contemporary architectural language. The layout unfolds across two levels, connected by generous arches and clear volumes, establishing a calm dialogue with the historic setting of Piazza Duomo.

Clay finishes by Matteo Brioni play a defining role throughout the interior, covering all vertical surfaces with the MB Terra Natural Coarse finish in Cammeo and custom colour. The raw earth material enhances spatial depth and light interaction, working in harmony with the traditional pastellone flooring. This material choice introduces a tactile and sustainable dimension, transforming the Furla store into an immersive architectural environment where material, light and design reinforce the brand’s identity.
