Short description

MORQ's Hotel Scenario steps from the Pantheon — a 12-room boutique hotel carved from a 16th-century religious building in Rome, where clay and lime plasters wrap the rooms in a meditative quiet that turns the luxury of silence into the most deliberate design choice in the building.

about this project

Minimalist design and the luxury of silence: at Hotel Scenario, MORQ defines the perfect threshold between Rome’s vibrant energy and a meditative retreat.

Rome is a city that enchants and consumes. Located a few steps from the Pantheon and the ancient Baths of Agrippa, Hotel Scenario is a 12-room boutique hotel housed in a 16th-century building that once belonged to a religious congregation. A space designed by MORQ studio to offer a visual and tactile “break” from the dynamism of the city.

In the rooms, the concept of hospitality strips away the superfluous to focus on deep well-being.The vertical surfaces are covered with MB Storia Smooth clay and lime plaster in the Polvere shade. This finish, with its silky and almost ethereal texture, captures the light filtered through the Roman alleys and returns it in the form of soft warmth.

In the common areas and transitional spaces, the narrative becomes more intense and material. Here, the coarse-grained plaster MB Terra Natural Coarse, customized in the Custom Pepe Nero shade, defines an enveloping and profound environment. This color contrast is not only aesthetic but also functional in creating a threshold experience: the transition from the light of the Roman squares to the welcoming density of the building. The Pepe Nero finish interacts with the original stone and wood, evoking a deep tranquility that invites you to pause and enjoy the silence.
