Suspended over the Gulf waters, Marsa Katara is a restaurant complex comprising eight bungalows and a main restaurant, where a relaxing atmosphere seamlessly blends traditional Qatari architectural language with the finest sustainable design and modern technology.
Experiencing Marsa Katara is a journey between matter and memory. The restaurant stands as a contemporary expression of the traditional majlis—the formal hall for welcoming guests—where clean geometric forms and an ethereal color palette define a timeless elegance. An atmosphere steeped in nostalgia: here each element, from the delicate embroidery of the cushions to the bougainvillea flowers, evokes a distant Qatar. At the entrance, a dramatically lit, suspended glass sculpture captivates visitors, introducing them to the immersive restaurant experience.
Architectural excellence is further revealed in the tactile detail of the raw clay surfaces. The walls are finished with MB Terra Natural Evoca, a two-layer artistic clay plaster. Hand-modeled by skilled artisans, the Damasco variant—refined yet organic—evokes the elegance of antique textiles through delicately sculpted surfaces, while Travertino reinterprets the geological rhythm of stone in stratified horizontal bands. In the bathrooms, functionality meets aesthetics with MB Tecnica Wall Smooth, a high-resistance mineral finishing plaster. These custom finishes capture light with unique depth, warming the environment through custom-tailored colors.
